School of Continuing and Professional Studies: Daily Cyber Security Essentials and Emergency Response

Programme details	With the growing prevalence of digital lifestyles, cybersecurity has become an essential concern for everyone. This course aims to enhance participants’ fundamental understanding of cybersecurity and equip them with practical skills to safeguard personal devices (such as computers and mobile phones), accounts, and online activities. It also introduces strategies for handling common cyber incidents, enabling participants to respond appropriately to information security threats. Through case studies and interactive learning, learners will develop good online practices and effectively tackle common cyber threats to protect personal and organisational information security. Course content includes: 1. Cybersecurity concepts and common risks; 2. Basic methods to protect personal devices (computers, mobile phones); 3. Password management and multi-factor authentication techniques; 4. Safe browsing and good online habits; 5. Email and online transaction security measures; 6. System updates and information protection; 7. Common types of cyber incidents (e.g., data breaches, ransomware, phishing attacks); 8. Emergency response procedures for cyber incidents (e.g., immediate actions, reporting, recovery recommendations); 9. Case discussion and analysis; 10.
