CUHK LAW will hold an alumni online seminar on the topic of "Obtaining Information in Bermuda, BVI and the Cayman Islands for Hong Kong Proceedings" by Ms. Catherine WONG, Associate at Conyers, on 4 November 2024.
About the seminar: The seminar will focus on the process of obtaining information in three offshore jurisdictions – Bermuda, the BVI, and the Cayman Islands – to support Hong Kong proceedings. The speaker will discuss the general methods available to acquire evidence in these jurisdictions, including from public sources, through shareholders exercising their specific rights, and by obtaining Court Orders such as the Norwich Pharmacal Order and other statutory relief. Additionally, the seminar will cover the statutory powers of liquidators to compel the production of documents in these offshore locations.
