新系列的首場研討會將由復旦大學法學院陳立教授主講。研討會將以香港的首位華裔終審法院首席法官楊鐵樑爵士為主題，審視楊在上海和倫敦鮮為人知的法學院學習經歷，揭示這些成長經歷如何塑造他成為第一位在殖民地香港擔任司法職務的中國出生的法官。此外，研討會亦會探討影響楊的決定和愛好的各種因素，這些因素為他後來的非凡成就提供重要的根據。
