CUHK LAW Directions in Legal Education 2022 Online Conference

CUHK LAW hosts its fourth Directions in Legal Education conference on 10 – 11 June 2022. The conference, hosted online using Zoom, brings together legal educators from around the world to share ideas and discuss issues of common concern. Anyone with an interest in legal education is welcome to participate. Participants in previous conferences included academics, students and legal practitioners.

The conference timetable and rundown of speakers are available on the conference website. Registration is free via the registration link (also available at the conference website).

69 speakers from around the world will deliver a total of 44 papers. Our keynote speakers are well-known leaders in the field of legal education research and innovation: Professor Natalie Skead (Dean of the Law School at the University of Western Australia); Professor Nigel Duncan (Professor Emeritus of Legal Education at the City University of London); and Professor Chris Ashford (Director of Research and Innovation at the Northumbria Law School).

Directions in Legal Education 2022, provides a space for legal educators to come together to share experiences and practices and explore themes of common concern. The conference will explore the perennial themes of developments in teaching and learning and assessment practices, as well as emerging themes such as student well-being. It is no surprise that quite a few papers explore online learning, given the experiences of the past two years.

Themes that will be explored at the conference include:

The provisional conference timetable is available on the conference website.

Registration for the conference is free and we hope to welcome as many of you as possible to listen to the great papers that will be presented and to engage in the discussion that will follow them.
