Programme details
| This course introduces the interrelationship between film music, sound, and images, allowing participants to understand and appreciate films from an auditory perspective. The course covers topics such as the theory of film music and sound in relation to moving images, theme songs and specific music styles, sound design, music and film editing, soundscape, and film scores centered around music. It aims to help participants understand the techniques of combining sound, images, and storytelling, enhancing their appreciation for film music and sound. The course analyzes the works of renowned film composers such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Joe Hisaishi, Tan Dun, Lim Giong, John Williams, Ennio Morricone, and introduces the scores of different films from Europe, America, and Asia, such as Hero, In the Mood for Love, Casablanca, among others.
