CUHK Mooncake is on Sale Now

The Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner. How do you plan to spend this joyous reunion festival? You can admire the moon with your loved ones and enjoy quality time together, and at the same time contribute your care and love to the society. This year, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is bringing you a special choice that can fulfill both of these wishes – the CUHK Mooncake.

CUHK has joined hands again with the social enterprise Caritas La Vie* to launch “CUHK Mooncake". The mooncake packaging box is designed by Stella Lam who graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, CUHK in 2016. It showcases the charming scenery of the Lake Ad Excellentiam with unique illustrations. “CUHK Mooncake” allows everyone to savour mooncakes with family and friends in the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The CUHK Mooncakes come in a box of 4 low-sugar dual-yolk white lotus paste mooncakes, with only 10.8g of sugar per box, priced at HK$300. For each box sold, the CUHK Care Service Team will deliver a free mooncake to the elderly living alone in Shatin, Tai Po and Ma On Shan. CUHK has long been promoting environmental protection and is devoted to developing a sustainable campus. CUHK took the lead in establishing the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change (MoCC) in 2013, the first museum in the world offering information about climate change, to raise environmental awareness among the public. Proceeds from the sales of CUHK Mooncake will be donated to MoCC for empowering our next generation to cope with daunting challenges posed by climate changes. By supporting "CUHK Mooncake" you are not only supporting the spirit of social enterprise and CUHK development, but also stepping up the support for environmental education and making a difference in the future.
