Join Us in Supporting the "CUHK Alumni Torch Fund"

The CUHK Alumni Torch Fund is the first of its kind in Hong Kong, initiated and established by alumni. Founded in 2014 by a group of alumni from anniversary classes, the fund has continued to thrive through the efforts of each subsequent year's Alumni Homecoming special anniversary classes. It upholds the tradition of fundraising and giving back to their alma mater while celebrating graduation anniversaries.

This year's anniversary classes include those from 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019. The “2024 CUHK Alumni Homecoming Special Anniversary Classes Fundraising Committee” is formed to raise funds for “CUHK Alumni Torch Fund”, as a way of giving back to our beloved alma mater. Fellow alumni, especially those from the anniversary classes of this year are encouraged to make donations to the Fund.

New "Faster Payment System" (FPS) QR Code Donation Option

In addition to the existing donation methods via credit card and crossed cheque, we are pleased to introduce the new FPS option. Simply use the FPS feature on your online banking or payment platforms, open the "Scan to Pay" function, and follow the instructions to complete your donation.

Donation Methods and Acknowledgements

Any amount of donation is welcome. Please refer to the donation form for acknowledgment and other details. Alumni who donate HKD 365 or more will receive a CUHK Alumni Torch Fund Commemorative Pin, and those donating HKD 50,000 or more will have their names acknowledged on the CUHK Alumni Torch Fund website and our “CU Alumni” quarterly magazine, as well as engraved on the University Alumni Garden for permanent remembrance.

To donate online instantly, please visit http://www.alumni.cuhk.edu.hk/CU_Alumni_Torch_Fund/donate_now/ .

All CU alumni are cordially invited to take part in this meaningful fundraising campaign. All donations will be processed and managed by the University’s Alumni Affairs Office. Act now and make donations before 1st November. A cheque presentation will be held at the opening ceremony of this year’s CUHK Alumni Homecoming Day on 23rd November.

For enquiries, please feel free to email to torchfund@cuhk.edu.hk or contact Alumni Affairs Office (Tel: 3943 8671; Email: alumni@cuhk.edu.hk).

This endowment fund was initiated and established by alumni and for alumni. It aims at facilitating the development and reputation enhancement of the University, helping CU alumni, particularly the young ones, to strengthen their competitive advantages and exposure to entrepreneurial opportunities; and encouraging CU alumni in developing their expertise and achieving excellence in the academic field.

Since 2015, the Fund initiated the annual entrepreneurship event “CUHK Entrepreneur Day" which has received extensive media coverage. Additionally, since 2017, it has organized the "CUHK Young Alumni Career NetWORK Day," benefiting younger alumni and students. This year marks the 10th anniversary of "CUHK Entrepreneur Day," with a large-scale community exhibition “CUHK Entrepreneur Day 10th Anniversary Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition: CUHK Innovations ‧ Brightening the Future (the Exhibition)” held from August 22 to 28 at New Town Plaza in Sha Tin. The Exhibition showcases CUHK’s pioneering innovations and entrepreneurial spirit with the presence of the executive community of the Fund and other distinguished guests.
